Dr Lucilla Lopriore, ELLiE Project Country Manager
Lucilla Lopriore Assistant professor in English Linguistics and Translation since 2001, worked first at the Department of Linguistics of the University of Cassino (2001-2004), then moved to the Department of Linguistics at ROMA TRE University in 2006. She teaches English Linguistics in the degree course in Language and Linguistics, TEFL and Foreign Language Assessment in Post-graduate Specialization Courses for foreign language teachers (SSIS). She works as ERASMUS Coordinator in the International Student Exchange Program.
Graduated in Foreign Languages at the University of Rome La Sapienza in 1974, she completed her MA in TEFL in 1997 (Reading University). In 2001 she obtained a PhD in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language from the University for Foreigners at Siena, Italy. She was president of TESOL Italy (1996-1998). She was elected in TESOL International Board of Directors (2001-2004) and served in the Global Professional Committee. Between 1999 and 2003, she has coordinated several national evaluation projects. Between 2004 and 2007 she has been part of the international team for the development and implementation of the post-graduate course in teaching foreign languages at Delhi University. Among her publications: 6 English coursebooks, 3 methodology textbooks, several contributions in books and numerous articles in professional journals, teaching materials for in-service on-line courses (BAICR, University Tor Vergata; INDIRE/ANDAS, Italian Inservice On-line Programs). Since 1999 she has been the Editor of PERSPECTIVES. A Journal of TESOL Italy. Her main research interests are: Early Language Learning, Foreign Language Assessment and Evaluation, Critical Discourse Analysis and Corpus Linguistics.

The Linguistics Department > - founded in 1993 - carries out research in the theoretical, descriptive, applied, and historical linguistics field of studies, as well as in those disciplines concerning human language and communication in general. Given their nature, studies on linguistics are based on a language analysis approach and on historical-comparative and philological studies on one hand, and on technological, computer science, statistical, and instrumental methods and resources on the other. Facilities include a Language Lab; Specialised languages and New Media Research Lab; TRIPLE: Lexical research; Speech Research Lab; Office for the certification of Italian as a second language.
